LET’S GET INTO IT
Sunday is either the most wasted day of the week or the most powerful one. The difference is not how much time you have. It is what you do with the hours you protect.
I have been refining this reset routine for over a year. It is not a rigid schedule. It is a loose framework that makes Monday feel like something I chose rather than something that happened to me. Here is what it looks like.
THE DEEP DIVE

The Sunday Reset Routine You Actually Need
A good Sunday does not require a clear calendar or a perfect morning. It requires a few deliberate choices made in the right order. I break mine into three parts: how I start the day, what I get done, and how I close the evening.
☀️ AM Rituals — Ease Into Sunday, Don't Rush It
The biggest mistake people make on Sunday morning is treating it like a weekday. Phone checked before coffee. Emails opened before breakfast. The week already pulling at you before you've had ten minutes to yourself.
Sunday morning is a nervous system decision. How you spend the first hour sets the cortisol tone for the entire day. I keep mine simple.
Move your body. Pilates, strength training, or a run outside. Morning movement boosts circulation, supports lymphatic flow, and helps balance cortisol for steadier energy all day.
Eat a protein and fibre breakfast. Protein stabilizes blood sugar and keeps you full. Fibre supports digestion and hormones. We are deep in our savory breakfast era and honestly it is the right call.
Drink a liter of water before midday. Hydration supports digestion, energy, skin, and lymphatic flow. Add electrolytes and sip warm rather than ice cold — gentler on digestion and circulation.
Snooze the alarm on purpose. That extra sleep supports hormone balance, mood, recovery, and nervous system regulation. Especially important for women. Rest is not laziness. It is biology. For me, I use Whoop to track my rest and recovery.
It is not complicated. It is just protected.
✅ Sunday Tasks — The Small Things That Add Up
There is a specific kind of peace that comes from a clean space, fresh bedsheets, and a bag that is already packed for Monday. None of these things take more than a few hours combined but the cumulative effect on your mental state is significant.
My non-negotiables: an everything shower — exfoliate, deep conditioning hair mask, the full reset. Fresh bedsheets, every week without exception. A walk of at least 10k steps. One self-care treat, whatever that means this week. And flowers. Always flowers. A small bunch from the market costs almost nothing and lifts the energy of the whole space.
10-15k steps. Low-impact movement supports digestion, blood sugar balance, and mood without spiking stress. A long walk counts.
Deep clean and fresh bedsheets. A tidy space lowers cortisol and reduces mental load. Clean space, clear mind is real. Fresh sheets are a non-negotiable.
The everything shower. Exfoliate, shave, deep conditioning hair mask, moisturize. The full reset that makes Monday feel fresh before it has even started.
One self-care treat. Book a massage, do your nails, order something special, buy yourself fresh flowers. One deliberate act of care for yourself, every Sunday.
Buy yourself flowers. A small bunch from the market costs almost nothing and lifts the energy of the whole space instantly. I am obsessed with this one.
🌙 Evening Routine — Wind Down So Monday Isn't Chaos
Sunday evening is where most people lose the reset. Phone stays in hand until midnight. The week starts to feel heavy before it has even arrived. The wind-down is as important as the morning.

Sleepy girl mocktail. Magnesium helps relax muscles and the nervous system. Tart cherry naturally supports melatonin production. Mix with sparkling water for a calming fizzy drink to close the evening. If you want to keep it a bit more simple, I love the AG1’s AGZ is a new nighttime drink that supports restorative sleep–without melatonin and morning grogginess.
Legs up the wall for 10-15 minutes. Supports lymphatic drainage, reduces swelling, and shifts you into parasympathetic rest mode before bed. Free, effective, and wildly underrated.
Plan the week ahead. Schedule workouts, social plans, and self-care. Having things to look forward to lowers stress and helps you move through the week more intentionally.
No phone after 9pm. Less blue light means better melatonin production, deeper sleep, and a calmer nervous system. Set an alarm if you need a reminder.
Red light therapy and a book or podcast. Red light supports collagen and skin healing while low-stimulation inputs signal to your brain that it is safe to wind down. Two things at once, zero guilt. (I wrote about the types of red light therapy products worth investing and which to avoid here.)
That is the whole routine. Three sections. One intentional Sunday.
The Bottom Line: Sunday is either something that happens to you or something you design. The routine above takes less than you think and gives back more than you expect.
