THIS WEEK
The spring equinox lands this week — the moment the Northern Hemisphere tips back toward the light and day officially outlasts night. It's one of those things that sounds poetic until you realise your body has already been feeling it for weeks. The shift in light is real, the shift in energy is real, and honestly the shift in what feels right to reach for is real too.
Every March I do a quiet edit. Not a reset, not an overhaul. Just a few deliberate swaps. Here's what changed this month.
THE SWAP
What I stopped: A full 90-minute evening routine that worked in winter and started feeling like a chore by the end of February. I stripped it back to 45 minutes. Less time, more consistency. Waking up earlier and working out in the morning vs the afternoon.
What replaced it: An earlier start to the wind-down. Waking up earlier and working out in the morning vs the afternoon. Same steps, just moved everything forward by an hour. Turns out timing mattered more than duration.
CURRENTLY LOVING
Open windows in the morning. The Madrid light at 7am this week is something else. The equinox does that.
🏃♀️ Lululemon Hotty Hot Shorts in Pink Pearl — Made the switch from leggings to these now that Madrid days are warming up. Lightweight, pockets, and cute enough to wear for coffee after a run. The Pink Pearl color way is having a moment. Lululemon, $68
☀️ La Roche-Posay Anthelios UV Hydra SPF 50 with Hyaluronic Acid — Swapped my winter SPF for this as the UV index starts climbing. Hydrating without being heavy, no white cast, layers cleanly under makeup. The kind of SPF that actually makes you want to wear it daily. While I do love and use my own Root + Renew SPF stick because it’s perfect for on the go and to keep in my purse, LRP Anthelios UV Hydra SPF 50 is my go-to in the morning. Ulta, $39
🍵 David Rio Tiger Spice Chai — Swapped my afternoon coffee for this and the 3pm crashes are noticeably less brutal. Rich, warming even when you drink it on ice, and just enough to feel like a treat. David Rio Tiger Spice Chai also has a nostalgic taste to it, taking me back to Saturday afternoons with my Dad and brother, and strolling downtown Palo Alto after getting a chai at Coupa Cafe. For anyone in the EU, the Chy brand Chai Spice Concentrate is a great alternative. Amazon, $14.
📖 Just Friends by Haley Pham — Not a wellness book, just a genuinely good read about friendship, growing up, and figuring out who you are. Sometimes the most restorative thing you can do is read something that has nothing to do with optimizing yourself. Amazon, $14
Broad Ideas: "Redefining Your Timeline" with Paige DeSorbo — This episode hit differently. A real conversation about timelines, expectations, and what it actually means to be on track. Worth a listen on your next run or walk. Listen on Spotify

A MOMENT TO REFLECT
What's one thing from your winter routine that isn't serving you anymore? The season already changed. Your routine can too.
Until Sunday,
