Hello, and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Welcome back to The Wellness Rewind—where we keep it real about health, wellness, and this wild thing called life. This week? We’re tackling the ultimate glow-up: aging.

Now, before you roll your eyes and start panic-Googling “best anti-aging serums” (spoiler: hydration is still the MVP), hear me out. I’m talking about getting older and the life timelines we set for ourselves.

Getting older isn’t about losing time—it’s about gaining wisdom, confidence, and, let’s be honest, way better habits than we had in our 20s.

So, let’s flip the script on age anxiety, shake off the pressure of arbitrary milestones, and own our timelines like the main characters we are.

But before we dive in, this week’s sponsor is The Rundown AI, where you can learn AI in five minutes day with the latest news, understand why it matters and learn how to apply it to your everyday life. Kinda like your own personal assistant!

What's Inside

Forget the Timeline Pressure—The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

But let’s be real—aging has a PR problem. Somewhere along the way, we were sold the idea that getting older means fading into irrelevance, slowing down, or clinging desperately to the past (cue every anti-aging ad ever). But what if we flipped the narrative? What if aging wasn’t about losing something, but gaining clarity, confidence, and the ability to make decisions without overthinking them to death? Because let’s be honest—who actually wants to relive their chaotic 20s? Exactly.

Think about it—remember how daunting turning 30 felt? Like you were supposed to have life figured out overnight? Then you actually lived (or ar living) your 30s and realized, "Oh, wait. This is way better than my 20s."

You traded chaotic nights out for morning routines you actually enjoy, swapped people-pleasing for boundaries, and finally stopped wasting energy on things that don’t serve you. And now, if 40 (or whatever your next milestone is) is around the corner, it’s easy to feel that same anxiety creeping back in—only to again realize that every decade just gets better. At least this is the wise wisdom my friends in their 40’s and parents have shared.

So instead of seeing aging as a countdown clock, let’s start treating it like what it really is: leveling up. Because the best version of you? You haven’t even met them yet.

Here’s how… Let’s get into it.👇

🎯 Step 1: Stop Treating Age Like an Expiration Date

First things first—who decided that life milestones had a deadline? Society? Instagram? That one aunt who keeps asking when you’re settling down? Ignore them.

The reality? Feeling “behind” is an illusion. Oprah didn’t launch her network until 56. Vera Wang designed her first dress at 40. Colonel Sanders (yes, that Colonel Sanders) didn’t franchise KFC until he was 62. If anyone tries to tell you that success has an age limit, kindly remind them that fried chicken iconography says otherwise.

🔥 Mindset Shift: You’re Not Late—You’re on Your Own Damn Timeline.

The only thing worse than rushing into something you don’t want? Spending years undoing it because you felt like you had to check a box.

🎯 Why It Works: When you stop treating milestones like a race, you free yourself up to actually enjoy life.

Instead of making decisions out of fear (or FOMO), you get to make them with intention and joy of missing out (JOMO). And that means more fulfillment, less regret, and way less time spent worrying about what everyone else is doing.

🛑 Step 2: Cut the Comparison Game

We all do it. You scroll through social media, see someone’s highlight reel, and suddenly, your life feels meh.

But here’s the truth: Social media is not a time machine. Just because someone else hit a certain milestone first doesn’t mean you’re behind—it means they’re on their own timeline. The best part? You’re on yours.

You want to switch careers at 39? Do it. Move across the world at 41? Why not. Start Pilates at 55? Your joints will thank you.

🔥 Mindset Shift: Comparison Is the Fastest Way to Hate Your Own Life. Drop It.

Instead of measuring success by someone else’s ruler, ask yourself: Am I living a life that feels good to me? That’s the only metric that matters.

🎯 Why It Works: When you stop comparing, you start living. You’ll make decisions based on what’s actually right for you instead of what looks good on paper (or Instagram). And guess what? That’s when real happiness happens—when you stop chasing someone else’s timeline and start owning your own.

🚀 Step 3: Get Excited About What’s Next

Here’s a thought—what if aging wasn’t about “running out of time” but about unlocking new levels of confidence and clarity? What if the best version of you is still unfolding?

Every age brings something new to the table. Your 20s were for figuring it out. Your 30s were for refining it. Your 40s, 50s, and beyond? That’s where you take everything you’ve learned and make moves without the second-guessing.

🔥 Mindset Shift: Fear of Aging = Fear of Change. But Change? That’s Where the Magic Happens.

Want to quit your job and try something new? Go for it. Thinking about launching a side hustle? Why not now? Considering a big life pivot but scared of what people will think? Trust me, they’re too busy worrying about their own lives.

🎯 Why It Works: Because excitement beats fear every time. When you start seeing aging as an opportunity instead of a deadline, everything shifts. You stop looking backward and start moving forward—with confidence, clarity, and a whole lot of “let’s freaking go” energy.

💡Your Turn: Here’s Your Takeaway

Aging isn’t about decline—it’s about evolution. You are not running out of time. You are right on time. And if you’re willing to see it that way, this next chapter? It might just be the best one yet.

But let’s make this real. Let’s turn this mindset shift into something actionable.

Your “I’m Not Too Late” Reframe Template:

Take a moment to reflect on something you’ve been putting off because you thought you were “too late” for it. Maybe it’s a fear about getting older or approaching a milestone age. Use this simple framework to help reframe that thought or fear:

1️⃣ What’s the thing you keep telling yourself you missed the boat on? (Changing careers, learning a new skill, going back to school, running a marathon, starting a side hustle, moving cities, etc.)

2️⃣ What’s the limiting belief that’s holding you back? (“I should have done this 10 years ago,” “People my age don’t do this,” “It’s too risky now,” etc.)

3️⃣ Now, flip it: What’s the truth? (Example: “Actually, people change careers all the time, and I have more experience now than I did at 25. My career expereince translates this to this [role/industry/career shift].”)

4️⃣ What’s one step you can take this week to prove that it’s not too late? (Sign up for a class, send that email, book a consultation, lace up your running shoes—whatever moves the needle just a little.)

Your turn: Fill this out and see how quickly your perspective shifts. And if you’re feeling bold—hit reply and share your answer with me. I’d love to hear what you’re finally giving yourself permission to pursue.

Because guess what? You’re not late. You’re just getting started. 🚀

Now tell me—what’s something you used to think you were “too late” for, but are finally giving yourself permission to pursue? Hit reply and let me know.

Until next Sunday,
Valerie 💛
