I have been thinking about why Euro summer content does so well every single July. The Amalfi reels. The aperitivo hours. Seaside sunsets. The slow lunches. We save it, share it, watch it on a loop.

I used to think it was about wanting to escape. But once I moved to Spain, I do not think that is it anymore. It is about a pace. A set of habits that make ordinary days feel like they actually mean something. And none of them require a plane ticket.

This week: eight of them. Not as travel goals. As daily practices you can start today, wherever you are.

OUR MAIN TOPIC

The 8 Euro Summer Habits Worth Stealing

Start slowly, even for ten minutes
Before the phone, before the notifications, before the day owns you. Make something hot to drink or over ice. Open a window. Sit with it. You do not need a perfect morning routine. You need ten quiet minutes that belong to you before everything else begins.

Dress like your day matters
Not overdressed. Just intentional. One thing that signals to yourself that you are a person before you are an employee. A nice shirt. Earrings. A little perfume. The detail that says: I am still here.

Treat lunch like an actual pause
Your lunch break is not an inconvenience. It is the moment your day becomes human again. Sit down. Eat something real. Put your phone face down. Use a plate. Eating is supposed to feel like something.

Walk after work
Before you go home and collapse, walk. Even fifteen minutes. It is not exercise. It is a transition from work mode back to being a person. One of the most underrated things you can do for your nervous system every single day.

Make dinner simple, but make it beautiful
You do not need a complicated meal. Pasta, olive oil, something fresh, a candle, music in the kitchen. Eaten slowly. The lesson from every European country is the same: ordinary things become beautiful when you give them your attention.

Protect one small pleasure every day
A coffee. A sunset. Good chocolate. A phone call that goes long. A book before bed. A busy life becomes unbearable when it has no pleasure inside it. Pick one thing and protect it.

Make your home feel alive
Open the windows. Put fruit on the table. Play music while you cook. Keep one corner beautiful. You do not need a perfect apartment. You need a home that restores you, not just contains you.

Remember that your life is bigger than your job
Work matters. Ambition matters. Discipline matters. But your life is also your meals, your walks, your home, your people, your body, your joy. Do not give your whole soul to productivity and leave nothing for the rest of it.

Euro summer is not a place or a price point. It is a choice about how you move through your days. It’s simple rituals that add to your day and cost nothing. A slow morning, a real lunch, dinner with a candle. That is the whole thing. You can start tonight.

Elevate Your Summer

Peak summer is the worst time to let the foundation slip. July heat, packed schedules, late World Cup nights — your body is working harder than it looks.

My summer training stack has been built around this. Creatine because the heat does not change the fact that strength and muscle recovery matter, and the research on creatine is as clean as it gets. Vitamin D because even in Madrid, with all this sun, supplementing through summer keeps my levels where they need to be for immune function and mood. Collagen because marathon training asks a lot of connective tissue and collagen gives it what it needs to hold up.

Momentous is the brand I trust for all of it. Third-party tested, athlete-grade formulations, and honest about what the research actually supports. If you are training through the summer or just trying to maintain what you built in the first half of the year, this is the stack worth building your summer around. This is what July looks like from the inside. Build the stack that matches the month.

THE REWIND

Five things heading into July.

🌍 Watch — Find a World Cup match this week and watch it with people. A bar, a fanzone, a friend's place. Collective joy is one of the most genuinely restorative experiences available right now and it is everywhere this month. Use it.

📖 Beach ReadOne Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle — a woman travels solo to Positano and finds more than she expected. Perfect for this week's energy and genuinely hard to put down.

🎬 Watch: Call Me By Your Name — the ultimate Euro summer film. Put it on this weekend and let it do its thing.

🚶 One walk this week with no podcast, no goal, no steps target. Just you and whatever is around you.

🕯️ Push dinner one hour later. Eat outside if you can. Light a candle even if you are alone.

🍋 Make an aperitivo at home this week. Aperol, sparkling water, an orange slice, whatever you have. The ritual matters more than the recipe.

The part of Euro summer everyone actually wants is the feeling that life is good right now. Not eventually. Not when you have more time or more money.

Right now. With a slow morning and a good meal and a walk before dark.

You already have everything you need.

See you Wednesday!

Valerie
